August Monthly Newsletter
This month, we held multiple volunteer & outreach events, including a visit to the Make-A-Wish of New Jersey.

Welcome to the August edition of the IYNJ monthly newsletter! This month has been productive, impactful, and very busy. We are very proud of our progress thus far and are very optimistic about our future.
We would like to first recognize our first team member of the month: Joyce Fitz, our non-profit manager! With a unanimous vote from our presidential team, we recognize Joyce because of her dedicated behind-the-scenes work in pushing us one step forward to becoming a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Congratulations on already making an everlasting impact on our new organization, and we are forever grateful to have you on our team! | ![]() Joyce Fitz, Member of The Month (Photo by Gavin Andrade) |
Unfortunately, our talent show has been postponed to a later date due to conflicts with the venue. Be on the lookout on our website, newsletter, and other social media to stay up-to-date on when the talent show will take place!
This month, we elected two new town representatives: Stella Provel, a Junior from Clark attending the Academy for Information Technology (UCVTS), and Maya Filian, a Junior from Union attending Magnet High School (UCVTS). We are so proud of these ambitious students who want to make an impact on the communities around them!
We achieved another significant milestone this month! Thanks to the efforts of our publicity team, town representatives, and other officers, Inspire Youth NJ has grown to over fifty members! 🎉
Our member base is diverse, with the most representation from Linden, Union, and Clark, where we currently have 15, 10, and 10 members, respectively, as of August 28.

In collaboration with the Union County Adopt-A-Park program, we maintained Chatfield Garden twice. Our volunteers laid mulch around the flowers and spread topsoil around individual enclosures inside the plot. We appreciate everyone who attended; we left the garden in excellent condition! |
After that, we held an outreach event in front of Magic Fountain Union Creamery. Several officers spent the afternoon engaging with potential members on the street; it was a pleasure meeting everyone, and we are thrilled to have recruited new members!

On August 27, our executive team toured the Make-A-Wish New Jersey Wish Castle in Monroe Township. Officers learned the history of the organization and what they do. We are planning on creating future fundraising events to benefit MAWNJ, so stay tuned for that! | ![]() Inspire Youth Team in front of Wish Castle, Monroe Township, NJ (Photo by Joyce’s dad) |
Next, on September 14, we will host our first fundraising event from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Officers and volunteers of Inspire Youth NJ will be washing cars for $10 each (cash only) in the parking lot of Crossroads Christian Fellowship in Union, NJ. We need at least 15 volunteers, so watch for sign-up information soon. For more information about the car wash, please visit https://iynj.org/carwash.
Finally, look out sometime soon for a video unveiling our new logo and branding created with the generous help of volunteer Yohsie Tchouassi. An announcement video will be released on all of our social media soon.
