Weekly Update - April 30, 2024

This week's newsletter contains three updates about IYNJ.

Welcome to the first edition of the weekly update newsletter! This week was relatively productive and I have many updates.

First, you may have noticed a difference in our appearance across social media and our website. A friend and I gathered to make a more appealing, simplistic logo. A switch was made because we knew that an organization with great potential needed a more attractive, elegant, and bold representation. Orange, yellow, and white were chosen to display passion and friendliness while retaining sophistication. The font choice conveys cleverness and competence while not irradiating a strict personality. Overall, the rebrand separates ourselves from our original affiliate, Key Club, and is memorable.

Next, we have gotten the green light to volunteer with two local organizations. The first one that was gracious enough to respond to us was Hands of Hope New Jersey (HOHNJ). This Edison-based foundation is a food pantry, soup kitchen, and a clothes closet. While we are not officially partnered with them, we still have the chance to work with them. The second one that responded to us was Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newark. They address broader neighborhood issues in Newark, NJ. If you are interested about learning more information about the companies, please visit their respective websites. Make sure to frequently visit our page to ensure you receive a spot at these limited volunteering events. We hope to see you there!

Finally, our president Gavin Andrade has submitted an application to Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) to have a booth and represent IYNJ nationwide. We are optimistic that we will be accepted to showcase ourselves at the National Leadership Conference at Orlando in June and receive positive publicity.

That is all for this week’s edition of the weekly newsletter. Please regularly check our Instagram, Remind, and official website for more frequent updates and to register for upcoming volunteer events.
